The importance of early detection of HPV becomes prima facie evident when considering the relevance of HPV in the development of certain tumors. From the extensive work we have performed with regards to HPV, Protheragen designs suitable and accurate diagnostic tools. These novel products have the potential to change the diagnostic patterns of the diseases underlying HPV and also address the health issues caused by this menace.
The HPV infection is classified as a viral disease and is known to have more than rogressesow a hundred variants. This disease can primarily affect the mouth, throat, and the genitals such as cervix, vagina, penis and anus, and as a result cause warts on the genitals. Among the variants, types 16 and 18 are considered high-risk as they are linked to the development of certain precancerous changes in an individual. In United States, HPV is reported to be acquired by 14 million individuals every year which makes it the most common form of sexually transmitted infection (STI).

To effectively control and manage the human papillomavirus (HPV) infection, it must be adequately diagnosed at an early stage and with high precision. The wide variety of disease biomarkers allow for a precise diagnostic for HPV, keeping track of its developments, and making therapeutic plans.
Viral DNA
HPV DNA biomarkers are highly specific and sensitive for identifying the presence of the virus, distinguishing HPV types, and quantifying viral load. DNA testing is the hallmark method for evaluating HPV infection, and it is also awfully effective during cervical cancer screening.
Antigen Biomarkers
Antigenic biomarkers are considered as proteins produced by a virus that can be obtained from the samples of an infected individual. Concerning the infection of HPV, viral antigens such as the E6 and E7 oncoproteins are crucial in high-risk carcinogenic HPV strain detection.
Antibody Biomarkers
HPV antibodies could potentially assist in evaluating the individual’s immune response to HPV, and may potentially reflect recent exposure to the virus. Serological tests can be utilized to evaluate the immune status, ascertain past infection, and measure the effects of the vaccine administered.
The market size of human papillomavirus (HPV) testing is a substantial area of growth in the diagnostics market and is stimulated by both the rise in HPV related diseases and the expansion of preventive healthcare. The worldwide market for HPV testing and Pap smear was valued at USD 3.9 billion in 2022, with a projected compound annual growth rate (CAGR) of 11.8% from 2023 to 2030.

With a vision to enhance the diagnosis of human papillomavirus (HPV) infection, our focus lies on developing innovative IVD products that would prove beneficial to the current shortcomings. Regarding this, we plan to design DNA, antigen, and antibody test kits for HPV virus infection. To facilitate self-sampling and at-home testing of HPV, we are committed to developing point-of-care testing (POCT) products to facilitate rapid identification and efficient detection of HPV.
In our commitment to advancing precision medicine for infectious diseases like human papillomavirus (HPV) infection, we offer comprehensive companion diagnostic development services. These services are designed to pinpoint the optimal therapeutic pathways for affected individuals by scrutinizing distinct biomarkers or genetic indicators linked to the condition.
